An Inch A Day

Here in Southcentral Alaska, we enjoy 19 hours of sunlight a day in the summer. Because of this, our peonies grow very fast. Some varieties can actually grow an inch or more a day! These two pictures are of the same peonies, taken exactly a week apart. You can really see the growth. The buds are tiny right now, but in 3-4 weeks they will be plump and ready to harvest.
